The Wade-O Radio Show Website Relaunches June 22

wor_black400

Although The Wade-O Radio Show successfully relaunched at the start of 2012, its web presence remained in flux. But on Friday, June 22 fans of the high-energy, multi-hour Christian hip hop program can look forward to the new WadeORadio.com.

“It wasn’t the ideal situation, but I think our new site is really a step forward for our ministry,” Wade “DJ Wade-O” Harris said.

In addition to being a central repository for all of the show’s podcasts and audio interviews, the revamped web destination boasts a new look and management system that Harris says will make it easier to publish fresh content on a daily basis.

“Visitors can look forward to blogs on pertinent issues that we all deal with and exclusive bonus mixtapes that will only be available at WadeORadio.com,” Harris said.

“And of course, each piece will be integrated with tools to make it easy for our visitors to share the content through their preferred social media outlets.”

Wade-O promises that episode 247 of the podcast will reveal more about the site including:

• An answer to why it took so long to relaunch
• What he learned during the hiatus, and
• How it will differ from other Christian hip hop spots already on the web

To find out the exact minute and second the site will republish visit WadeORadio.com and sign up for the e-mail newsletter.

Listeners can also look forward to the addition of:

The “Going In” Mix – DJ Wade-O will be kicking off each show with a 15 minute blend of the latest and hottest Christian hip hop music designed to get listeners pumped up and locked in.

“Wade’s World Wide Top 5 (3WT5)” – It’s called “World Wide” for the simple reason that the countdown will consist of singles from the United States as well as from places like Jamaica and the United Kingdom (or wherever musicians who love Jesus and hip hop are producing the most-notable audio art.) The votes will be listener-based via nominations and elections made at wadeoradio.com.

Additionally, Chris Belmont and JahRock'n Productions (Heesun Lee, Seda) will be joining the team to support the production process. And I'll be back with the regular Holy Hip Hop News Blast segments too.

“We’re very excited about the re-launch and expect that a lot of people will have questions about the show’s hiatus,” Wade-O said. “All of that will be explained in the return episode alongside some new segments and sounds we believe will really speak to our audience.”

The Wade-O Radio Show Plans Holiday Tour

Continuing to prove his program is “More than Music, It’s Ministry,” DJ Wade-O is currently routing stops for a holiday tour in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area.

While Wade’s DJ skills can easily be a part of the events, he is most excited about opportunities he will have to share and teach people about music’s impact on their lives and faith. The information can be presented through four different workshop sessions, each lasting approximately an hour long.

They include:

- The Reason for Christ-Centered Hip Hop
- From Podcasting to Syndication
- What’s in Your iPod?
- Reaching Young Black Males with the Gospel

“I feel like God has blessed me with a wealth of great experiences and education that it would be selfish not to share it with others,” Wade said. “When you’ve been given a platform like I have, it’s actually an incumbent responsibility.”

Special, surprise guest artists and performances will also play a part.

The tour will be available from Thanksgiving through New Years Eve. The gatherings are expected to be offered to the public for free and can be stand alone sessions or part of an existing event.

To book an event in your area, please contact DJ Wade-O's Management, The Kingdom Minded Group. They can be reached at (212) 203-4400 x 1 or Booking@KingdomMindedGroup.com

Is The Wade-O Radio Show Coming to a TV Near You?

Photobucket

Is The Wade-O Radio Show coming to a TV near you? Kind of…

In late August, DJ Wade-O wrapped principal photography on a TV commercial for his internationally known radio show. The 30 and 60 second spots will be used on Uprise TV in the United Kingdom and strategically placed in various markets where The Wade-O Radio show airs.

Wade spent nearly a full day in Philadelphia, PA shooting the spot with Christina Faith at several “top secret” locations. The commercial carries a storyline about where and how Wade-O secures exclusive music for his show. A few notable names from the world of Philly-based Christian Hip Hop also make cameo appearances.

“It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Plus I got to dust off my acting skills,” Wade-O laughed. “Bet y’all didn’t know your boy was a ‘Guys and Dolls’ stage star in high school.”

Christina Faith said Wade needed very little direction and believes viewers will enjoy the commercial.

“Acting comes very naturally to him,” Faith said. “I pray God pulls more of his gifting out of him.”

Keep it locked to www.wadeoradio.com for details on when the finished product will be available for viewing.

Wade-O Show adds three new affiliates (Includes California, Canada, & St. Maarten)

The Wade-O Radio network of affiliates continues to grow both numerically and geographically with the recent additions of NIFTY Christian Radio, International Christian Network Radio, and Laser 101 FM.

The shows will originate from Toronto, Canada, Victorville, California, and St. Maarten, respectively. The Laser 101 addition is particularly notable because it is the most listened to mainstream station on the island.

“We’re so excited to have all of these stations join our partnership to make Jesus the Christ known through the vehicle of hip hop music,” Wade-O said.

“God continues to allow this show to cross boarders which, to me, simply reinforces the truth that He is ‘no respecter of persons’ and a lover of all men.”

The new station start dates and air times are:

Wade-O interviews NBA All-Star Allan Houston & DJs Father Knows Best Retreat

It’s not every day you get to chop it up with an NBA All-Star, much less about issues that really matter (like faith and fatherhood), but that’s exactly what DJ Wade-O did recently with former New York Knick Allan Houston.

Over Father’s Day weekend, the current Knicks’ Assistant to the President for Basketball Operations invited DJ Wade-O to provide the soundtrack for the campers’ game night. That evening Wade spun and mixed today’s hottest Christian Hip Hop music and later interviewed Houston for The Wade-O Radio Show.

“The whole weekend was such a blessing to me and my family,” DJ Wade-O said. “Allan, his father [former University of Tennessee men’s basketball head coach], and several other notable pro, college and high school coaches taught the kids drills, Scriptures, and how to be men.”

The retreat has been in existence for six years. Afterwards, Houston Tweeted “Thanks for all the support for this year's FKB. This year and this Father's Day was the best ever!”

Also on upcoming episode #115, the guys from the Don’t Waste Your Life Tour (Trip Lee, Tedashii, Lecrae, FLAME, Sho Baraka, & DJ Official) will drop in for a few pointed questions and major announcements about their future projects as well as update us on how the mobile concert series is going thus far.

In addition to Allan Houston, future interviews are scheduled with rap ministers Papa San and Mr. Del.

Wade-O Radio Honors Mothers This Weekend

It’s all about the ladies this weekend on The Wade-O Radio Show.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Wade is turning over the controls to his wife, Belinda Harris, who will be interviewing mom-to-be Charde Jones (bride of Christian rapper k-Drama) and a special surprise guest.

DJ Lady Grace will be handling the “Mix of the Week” and Wade-O Show intern Laide Mak will fill in for Sketch the Journalist on the “Holy Hip Hop News Blast” segments.

“It’s a true blessing to share my show with these ladies and allow my audience to hear directly from these daughters of Eve,” DJ Wade-O said.

“All of this is to accent the beauty of motherhood and address issues that, from time to time, get left out of the male-dominated holy hip hop scene.”

In addition to the special guests, tune in for hip hop and urban soul that honors and is performed by powerful women of God.

As always, listen to The Wade-O Radio Show on Saturday evenings from 11pm to 1am on the five stations in and around the NYC Metro Area owned by WRDR The Bridge-FM. You can also catch it on demand on DaSouth.com, HeadzupFM.com, or through your favorite podcast RSS feed.

The Wade-O Radio Show Goes International

Like the name of DJ Morph’s last mixtape, The Wade-O Radio Show is going “International.”

Starting Friday, April 17 the Christian hip hop show known for its “more than Music… It’s Ministry” focus will be aired on iPowerFM, a Canada-based internet station. Two weeks later, the show “crosses the pond” to the United Kingdom where it will air on G-Force Radio’s web outlet found at www.gforceradionetwork.com.

“God gets all the glory in this broadening and elevation of this music ministry,” DJ Wade-O said.

“We’re so grateful to our on-demand, press-and-play partners at DaSouth.com and HeadzUp-FM along with our over-the-air team at The Bridge FM here on the East Coast.

By adding these international, time-slot affiliates to our portfolio, we are able to see two more ways that Christ is providing us a new audience to serve with His message.”

In addition to the two overseas markets, The Wade-O Radio Show will also expand to a five-day schedule via Texas-based Zoe Radio’s internet feed. Starting on May 4, Zoe will broadcast The Wade-O Show Monday through Friday with the most recent episode airing on the first day of the week and then a reverse order cycle of previous episodes over the next four days.

Finally, the Nia Radio Network, based in South Carolina, will be adding The Wade-O Radio Show schedule right after DJ I Rock Jesus’ broadcast.

What all this means is that devoted Wade-O Show fans will now be able to hear the debut of new episodes a day earlier (by listening to the UK feed) and new Wade-O Show listeners will be able to catch up on previous spots by getting it in with Zoe Radio’s Tuesday-Friday flashbacks.
